We are just over a week away from the opening day of Folklorama 2019!
The Slovenija Pavilion runs during week 1, which is Aug.4-10, at Bronx Park Community Centre (720 Henderson Hwy.)
This is a new venue for us this year, but we’re hoping it will be a good fit for our community! As always, our dance and vocal groups will perform three shows a night — 6:45 p.m., 8:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m. — and we have a few new things this year as well. We’ve partnered with local brewery Farmery to design our own beer can. Our specially designed Triglav beer, a Slovenian-style lager, will be available at the pavilion all week!
We’ve also taken steps to reduce our styrofoam and plastic use, and have invested in recyclable plates and containers.
Folklorama is continuing to do online ticketing, which they implemented last year, in addition to in-person ticketing at the door. You can find out more information at folklorama.ca.
As always, we are looking for volunteers to help set up on Saturday (Aug. 3), work during the week at the pavilion and help with take-down on Saturday night (Aug. 10).
