Father’s / Slovenian Day

Join us on Sunday June 18 for a great day of fun, at the first picnic of the year, were we honour our Fathers and Slovenia. The lineup for the picnic is below:

• Starting at 12:30, Father Garry Killen will be leading us in Sunday Mass at the Picnic Grounds! Sleep in a bit on Sunday, and still be able to partake in Mass, if you wish, at our Picnic Grounds.
• Immediately after Mass (around 1:00), lunch will be served. Enjoy a plate of BBQ Pork or Chicken, served with our salads, or perhaps a Kranjska Klobasa will be more up your alley. For the children, our Hot Dog meal will surely satisfy they hunger.
• For Beverages, we will be having Lasko Beer available for purchase, as well we are trying to get Slovenian Wine in time for the picnic (we are hopeful it will be arriving in time). We will also have a wide variety of our regular beverages as well, including brandy, coolers, beer and soft drinks.
• After lunch, we will be selling some sweets for dessert, and we will have ice cream and coffee. Last year we sold Strudel and Medanjaki and they were incredibly popular. We are still finalizing our dessert for this picnic.
• We will be setting up the water slides for the children, as well as having volleyballs and basketballs available if you would like to play those sports.
• The Baline pits will be open, so go give yourself a chance and toss a ball, and perhaps win your game!
• To honour Slovenia, we will have dancing and singing entertainment for you as well. Perhaps you will be able to kick up your heels a bit too!

• This promises to be a wonderful day, and we hope you and your family will be able to partake in this day. No charge for admission, and we will be accepting cash, interact or credit card for food and beverage purchases.

  These coordinates will take you to our driveway of our Picnic Grounds. Turn into our driveway, and drive around 300 meters and you will see our picnic grounds and hall. Simply plug these coordinates into your Map applications on your smart phone or your GPS, and your phone or GPS should direct you there. We are located on Dawson Road.
