The 2002 Ambassadors and youth ambassadors where (L - R) Teresa Lebar, Myranda Terry, Katlin O’toole, Mary Sobocan. Some of thehighlights of our pavilion: * Our community was honoured that Natalija Zmavc was one of two adult Ambassador Generals to represent all of Folklorama 2002. * Additional new dances by all four dance groups, courtesy of our cultural exchange during the summer of 2000. * Great food service, including our famous barbecued pork, and new this year, Slovenian chocolates. * Our souvenir area was restocked with CD’s from the award winning band Kvintet Dori. The planning for Folklorama is an exhaustive affair, but our co-ordinator, Linda Casar did a great job of assembling her team, and ensuring that the pavilion was run first class. Great job Linda! When the first day began, the entertainment took front stage and many people enjoyed the shows. As mentioned above, all the dance groups added new dances this year to our showcase. All of these new dances and songs were possible because of the cultural exchange that Triglav participated in, during the summer of 2000. From a bar perspective, we definitely had a Slovenian influence. We featured Union Pivo directly from Slovenia, as well as three different Slovenian wines. As usual, we also had our traditional barbecue of roast pork and chicken. Judging by how it was selling, visitors to our pavilion still crave and desire this speciality. We would like to thank our sponsors who supported us this year at Folklorama: * Sobey’s West / IGA * De Luca’s * Karpaty Meats and Deli * Fort Garry Brewing Company We had a great Folklorama 2002, thanks to all of volunteers who made it possible. Look for some new and exciting changes for Folklorama 2003! Stan Majowski Canadian Slovenian Cultural Society Winnipeg, Canada
