Founding Father's
 Bursary

The CSCS is proud to support our youth, as they endeavor to improve and acquire skills in a post secondary educational forum.  During the CSCS’ 50th Anniversary celebration in 2001, the executive at that time desired to honour the men who were at the first meeting of the then Slovenian Club of Manitoba.  These men are affectionately known as our Founding Fathers.  Because their greatest wish was that their children obtain an education, the CSCS feels there is no better way to honour our Founding Fathers, than by instituting a Bursary program for the youth of our community.

The first presentation of a bursary was done in 2003, and in the past years, the CSCS has financially assisted eight of our members, in their pursuit of higher education.  Following is a listing of bursary recipients, by year:

2009 - Sabrina Simonic and Matthew Stubler

2008 - Sandra Casar

2007 - Erin Lebar

2006 - Eric Stegne

2005 - Helen Fewster and Alyssa Terry

2004 - Vanessa Simonic and Jeremy Stubler

2003 - Mark Lebar

Our congratulations to all our past recipients!

The CSCS presents the Founding Fathers Bursary on an annual basis, at the Annual General Meeting, which is held in November.  To be eligible for a bursary, applicants must fill in an application, which are posted in June and are due by August 31.  For further information, please contact any of the CSCS executive, or email info@canadianslovenian.mb.ca
