Rožmarin

Rožmarin Dance Group

The Rožmarin Dancers are an energetic group of young dancers range in age from 10 to 17 years old. While they are young, their enthusiasm for dancing and for the Slovenian culture cannot be beat!

Rožmarin’s repertoire includes dances from nearly every region of Slovenia, as well as some contemporary choreography. Historically, the group has been costumed in ethnic dress from the Gorenjska region, but in the summer of 2003, the Rožmarin Dance Group was happy to being presenting their dances outfitted in costumes from the Primorska region.

Over the years, the group has performed at various locations throughout Winnipeg including Deer Lodge Center, Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, and the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Of course, each year Rožmarin performs for Winnipeg’s annual festival of nations - Folklorama. Hope to see you at this year’s festival! The Rožmarin Dancers have been fortunate to have two dedicated instructors - Kristina Majowski and Vladka Pikel who look forward to bringing forward traditional Slovenian dance.
