In 2003, Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church celebrated 40 years as a spiritual and cultural center for Slovenians in Manitoba. In June of 1963, the church doors first opened, and Our Lady of Lourdes has not only provided a place of worship, but the location has become the central meeting place for our community. Through this church, our community has thrived and has provided an ideal location for dance classes, educational courses as well has a meeting facility,
To celebrate 40 years, the church underwent a renovation. The interior of the church has not changed substantially over the 40 years, and the time has come to renew our church setting. The changes have fulfilled the promise to renew our church.

Pastoral Visits
Two special visits took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Slovenian Church during the month of March 2001.
First , the Archbishop of Winnipeg, James Weisgerber, visited the Slovenian parish community for the very first time on Mach 11, 2001. Click here to visit the page.
